John Kinsella | S&C Coach

John comes to Motiv8 Fitness with a passion and enthusiasm for promoting health and wellness after being involved in sport all his life. He spent the past summer at Snap Fitness as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. While at Snap Fitness, John instructed a range of different classes including Women’s Fitness and HIIT45 and developed 80 Spins as well as nightclub spinning class programmes which were especially enjoyed by participants. 

John also developed individualised personal training plans. He helped clients hit goals and build healthy lifestyle habits that were sustainable and realistic for everyday people. 

Prior to joining Snap Fitness, John worked at Woodlands Leisure Centre and Riverside Health Club in Waterford. John completed QQI Level 5 Sports & Exercise and NCF level 6 in Exercise and Health, accredited by University of Limerick in May 2022. 

John began his sporting career in hurling and Gaelic football and played with his club and represented his county at underage level. 

He began his journey in strength & conditioning and health and fitness as a coach at Waterford Judo club in 2015. John is also an accomplished Judo athlete, having won the 2016 Irish Open and earned his black belt by Batsugun and currently trains with the Irish Judo Masters squad.    

John plays many different sports and volunteers at Butlerstown GAA and is also a Lifeguard through Irish Water Society.

He enjoys coaching and trying to get the best out of himself and people around him. Outside of the gym space, John enjoys sea swimming, going for coffee and spending time with his family, friends and his girlfriend.
