About Us
OUR PROVEN PROCESS
For over six years Kevin Barry coached thousands of athletes and busy adults to change body composition, gain energy, and feel the best they have in years while coaching in America. And now he’s bringing all his experience to Waterford through Motiv8 Fitness. Motiv8 Fitness is the only small group training gym in Waterford that helps people change body composition, gain energy, and feel the best they have in years without crazy diets or intense high-impact workouts.
We operate out of a 2,000 square foot facility and do not believe in playing the “numbers game” in strength and conditioning, health, and fitness. With our training philosophy, we refuse to accept second best. Our programs are open annually to youth and adult participants. Our services include the following: Sport Performance Training | Athletic Development Programs, Personal Training, Semi-Private Training & Group Fitness Classes.
Please enjoy our website content. We look forward to seeing you in the weight room and helping you work towards your goals.
Owner & Director of Performance
Hi, I’m Kevin and I am the Owner and Director of Training at Motiv8 Fitness.
I moved to America in 2011 to pursue some of the best strength and conditioning opportunities in the world. I completed a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and went on to complete a Masters Degree in Physical Education in 2016. I coached full time for six years (2016-2021) across America before I returned to home to open Motiv8 Fitness.
I am passionate about training athletes and love being able to provide my coaching experience to the people of Waterford.
I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach with the NSCA, as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer.
I am here to help, so feel free to ask me any questions or queries you might have and I will be happy to answer.

Lauren Murphy
Lauren began her fitness career at invincABLE in Waterford in July 2021, excelling as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Her role saw her gain experience with training kids, providing progressive programmes for participants to return to exercise safely. In this position, Lauren focused on specialised programs for individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and stroke survivors.
With a BSc in Health & Exercise Science (Level 8) from SETU Waterford, Lauren is a certified health specialist, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor through REPS Ireland. Lauren received her black belt in Kickboxing at 13 years old and was a national-level participation in jiu-jitsu – all attesting to her dedication.
Recently, Lauren adopted Crossfit, overcoming her own struggle with consistent training.
Beyond fitness, Lauren enjoys drawing, art, spending time with friends, and finds comfort in coffee from Molly’s in Tramore (the best in Waterford she says).
Lauren coaches small group classes, strength and conditioning classes and personal training at Motiv8 Fitness.
